Web hosting & domain name
WordPress websites have to be “hosted” somewhere. A host is a service that puts your site up online for you for a monthly or annual fee. As part of your web design package, I assist you with purchasing your hosting service from a third party. It’s very simple, and having your own hosting account offers you autonomy over your website.
You also require a domain name. That’s the annual registration of your “www” address online. Don’t worry, I’ll help you with all of it.
Brand design and photography
Professional brand styling and photography is often the difference between a great website and a WOW! website.
I always like to encourage my clients to provide their own quality photography, but we can do a lot with creative stock imagery if you’re just getting started.
I offer brand design packages as well. Ask me more!
Custom email address
It’s always more professional when you send your emails from a you@you.com address, rather than you@webmailservice.com.
While this one is not essential, there are a number of benefits, especially when it comes to promoting your business.

FAQs
Each project is unique and depends on your availability as well. Once you have completed the Website Workbook, it’s about:
- 2-4 weeks for Informational websites
- 4-6 weeks for Custom Function websites
- 6-8 weeks for Merchant sites

Yes! If you’re reasonably comfortable with a bit of technology, it’s very easy to learn how to update your site. Approximately 43% of the world’s 2 billion websites are built in WordPress, so… it’s not rocket science. 🙂
Your WordPress website is kind of like your car. It requires periodic maintenance to make sure it runs properly. Running updates is generally easy and involves logging into your site and pressing a few buttons. Or, you can engage me to periodically check up on things and make sure it’s in ship shape.
You will need to have some basic computer skills to engage with my process. I use free tools like Notion to communicate with you during the course of your project, and Google Drive to transfer files.
Do you understand the terms “Application”, “Web Browser” and “Operating System”? Do you know how to use a word processor like Microsoft Word? Do you understand what “upload” & “download” mean? Would you know how to download an application from the web and install it on your computer?
If you answered yes to these things, then you should be fine!
We link up for a quick video chat to talk about your business, your goals and your vision. If we’re a great fit, I’ll ask you to grant me some access to things and send you your fun Website Workbook filled with prompts to help capture the finer details of your vision and guide you through your copywriting.
I’ll do some rough designs and once you’re happy, I’ll build your site. Once it’s done, I’ll send you through your documentation and show you how everything works.
Yes I can. I find that most clients want to write their own copy, and then I just finesse it so it works well for web. If writing is not your strong suit, that’s okay and I’m happy to grab the copywriting reins as an add-on service. But, I will still need some point form notes about who you are, what makes your service special, etc.
Your project will be split into 3 phases:
- Planning & Prep
- Design & Implementation
- Review, Testing & Handover
I require 1/3 payment in advance of each phase.
Sure! Or, I can refer you to one of the amazing Squarespace designers I know. Hosted platforms (Squarespace, Wix, etc.) are amazing tools with tons of benefits. I love them. But, they can sometimes be cost prohibitive for businesses that are just starting out. That’s why I choose to offer WordPress sites.
WordPress is “open source” meaning it’s not run by a big tech company. There are pros and cons to both options and I’m happy to help you figure out what’s best for your unique situation.
