Total Hemp Co. were developing a wonderful range of hemp-based food and wellness products. Their primary product had been industrial hemp, but they wanted to expand their business offerings into this new, rapidly growing market. Their existing branding was inconsistent and not reflective of their high quality products.

Objective
Develop a brand style that reflected Total Hemp Co.’s core values, matched their business vibe, piqued customer interest and inspired trust. It had to work across a wide range of product types and appeal to a broad market.
For their website, they needed a shop to sell the product range, as well as promote their on site camping, chalet accommodation and event hosting services.
Process
Laurel was already very in tune with what she wanted from her website technically and had some ideas for her brand. We decided to do a bit of exploration around who her ideal client was to really narrow it down.
Laurel teaches yoga nidra – a guided meditative style of yoga that focuses on deep rest to reset the nervous system. To help her bring forth the meaning behind her brand, I recorded a soft-spoken, guided meditation for her in which she visualizes her ideal client and presents them with her business card.
This helped us discover what reactions and emotions we wanted from her clients when they came into contact with her brand.
Challenge
This project required us to overcome a styling challenge!
Laurel was originally based in a tropical beach environment and that vibe came through in her imagery and colour palette.
Halfway through our project, she moved back to Canada and wanted the look of her brand to then reflect a bit more of a northern forest vibe.
We opted for a blend of the two looks and worked with the photographic content she had created in each hemisphere.

Result
The resulting style evokes feelings of calmness, healing, strength, safety and inspiration.
